You’re curious about yoga teacher training, but what does it actually look like, day to day? What will you study? How intense is it? and will you really be ready to teach by the end?
Short answer: yes. Here’s exactly what happens during a 200 hour yoga teacher training (YTT), so you can step in knowing what to expect and step out transformed.
A Typical Daily Schedule
Our RYT 200 course is an immersive 21-day training. For three transformative weeks, you don’t squeeze yoga around your life, your life is yoga. You’ll immerse yourself completely, in stunning natural surroundings that nourish the soul. We are all for routine, and while every day brings something new, here is the daily timetable:
Vinyasa Flow, Meditation and Pranayama
Breakfast
Philosophy, Self-Inquiry
Lunch
Adjustments/Teaching Techniques, Anatomy
Vinyasa Flow, Meditation and Pranayama
The rhythm is full but balanced, designed to challenge you while giving your body and mind time to absorb everything. And because every group is different, we spend extra time wherever it’s needed most.
Morning Practice: Where Every Day Begins
Each morning starts on the mat with vinyasa flow, meditation and pranayama, moving your body, calming your mind, and accessing the stillness within before the day begins. Day by day, you’ll feel your own practice transform. Poses open. Breath deepens. Things click.
We strongly emphasise technique and alignment throughout, because safety is paramount to our teaching philosophy. You won’t just learn what to do, you’ll understand why.
Philosophy and Self-Inquiry: Beyond the Mat
Yoga is thousands of years old, and the postures are only the beginning. Our training takes yoga beyond the mat, exploring all aspects of living a life of balance and harmony. Together, you’ll dive into:
- The rich history of yoga and how it evolved
- Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras and the eight limbs of yoga
- The yamas and niyamas, living your yoga every day
- Powerful self-discovery tools, including Enneagram work and inner child work
For many students, this becomes the most unexpectedly life-changing part of the training. These aren’t dusty old ideas, they quietly reshape how you see everything.
Anatomy: Understand the Body You Teach
To lead safe and inspiring classes, you need to understand how the body actually works. In simple, practical sessions you’ll learn:
- The skeletal and muscular systems, made easy to understand
- How joints move and their healthy limits
- How to prevent injuries and keep every student safe
- Why every body is different, and how to teach for all of them
Never studied science? Don’t worry. You’ll learn anatomy in your own body, not from a dry textbook.
The Yoga of Food
A life of balance and harmony extends to the plate. On many of our courses, we include a “Yoga of Food” element, exploring how what you eat affects how you practise. You’ll discover how nutrition and mindful eating fuel your yoga and leave with the tools to live an empowered, balanced and healthy lifestyle long after the course ends.
Teaching Practice: From Student to Teacher
This is where the magic happens. From the very first week, you’ll begin learning to teach, starting small, in a safe and supportive space, and building step by step towards leading full classes.
With no more than 12 students per course, you’ll receive individual coaching and honest feedback at every stage, and our method has student teachers practice teaching with confidence within days. By graduation, teaching a class won’t be a terrifying unknown. It will be something you’ve already done many times, with your community cheering you on.
The Part No Timetable Can Capture
Between the sessions, something bigger happens: transformation. Shared meals. Honest conversations. Breakthroughs on the mat. Quiet mornings in one of the most beautiful places on earth, far from your everyday routine. You’ll arrive as strangers. You’ll leave as a family of teachers.
