Such an amazing experience! 🙂 I very much enjoyed the 200h Yoga Teacher Training with with Shades of Yoga in October 2023 and gained ~ among so many other skills and insights ~ so much knowledge in asana alignment and how to teach safely. I am truly grateful that I was able to be part of the group. Even though I was not planning on teaching at all, I developed so much joy doing it. I had only ever taken one yoga class in my life and we moved at a pace where I fully understand everything we were being taught. If you are new to yoga this is the perfect school for you! The class sizes are small, 16 students max, and you become very close with all the other students. I made the most beautiful friendships within the three weeks of Shades of Yoga YTT. I would recommend this course to anyone interested in beginning their yoga journey or anyone who has been doing yoga for years and would like to perfect their skills. Amazing training, teachers are fantastics, the Ubud energy, the place we stayed, food, shala we practiced is just a dream. A regular yoga practice is recommended, but you don’t need to be advanced. What matters most is enthusiasm, dedication, and an openness to deepening your yoga journey.
We deliberately cap our Cape Town courses at a maximum of 12 students. This ensures personalised attention, strong teacher-student support, and a close community atmosphere.
Days usually start with meditation and asana practice, followed by workshops, lectures, and teaching practice. Expect full but rewarding days with time for self-reflection and growth.
Applications are completed online via our website. Because spaces are limited to 12 students, early application is recommended.
A 200-hour course (RYT200) is the foundation level and qualifies you to teach. A 300-hour course is advanced training for those who have already completed their RYT200.
